Shannon is a partner in the firm’s Dallas office where she represents clients involved in catastrophe litigation with a focus on complex property insurance coverage litigation.
Shannon focuses her practice on analyzing complex and novel property insurance coverage issues that require an understanding of the intricacies of property insurance, especially in connection with time element claims. She works on numerous property insurance issues arising out of catastrophes such as tornados, hurricanes, floods, and hail.
Shannon has also worked with clients in analyzing unique D&O liability issues and works with them to find the right answer when coverage questions arise.
Shannon provides advice and analysis to clients on coverage issues, pre-litigation strategy, dispute resolution, and litigation. The matters she handles frequently present unique issues on which there are limited precedents. Shannon also litigates e-Discovery issues and is the firm's e-Discovery resource in developing best practices for the firm and its clients.
Shannon was named a "Rising Star" for 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 by Texas Monthly magazine.
Zealous Woman Fact:
While she works hard at the office, she also works hard to have a balanced life. In recent years, Shannon developed a love a running and completed 5 marathons including the Paris marathon in 2013, the New York marathon in 2011, and the Goofy Challenge in 2012, in which she ran a half marathon on Saturday and the full marathon on Sunday through the Magic Kingdom. She has run innumerable half marathons. She plans to run both the Chicago and Marine Corps Marathons in October 2013.
Shannon is also an avid Kansas City Chiefs football fan. While her devotion is not always rewarded with wins, she remains optimistic that one day, the Chiefs will make it back to the Super Bowl. She can only hope it will be in her lifetime.
Shannon enjoys cooking for friends and family and likes spending time on the weekends at the dog park, in the swimming pool, or volunteering.
